Shipping & Handling Policy (Effective as of May 1, 2015)


MSSI, LTD will waive the base transportation charges and the freight recovery fee for ground orders that meet all of the following criteria:


Order value meets free freight threshold:


  • WWW/GSA advantage orders – $1,500
  • Phone/email orders – $2,400

MSSI, LTD’s ground carriers of choice are FedEx & UPS Ground.  Free freight may not be available for shipments to Puerto Rico, Alaska and Hawaii.


FedEx and UPS both offer web tools to estimate the delivery time for their ground deliveries. These times are estimates only and are not guaranteed by the carrier or MSSI, LTD. Links to these web tools are below.

Free freight may not apply to heavyweight items (weighing 50 lbs. or more), oversized products, and same day delivery service.

Free freight may apply if the product in the shipment does not require Special Handling (see Optional Delivery Services). When a multi-line order is placed and one of the items does not qualify for free freight (heavyweight, oversize, same day delivery or licensing), freight will be charged for that line item only. Freight will not be charged for all other line items providing the minimum order threshold is met and an eligible ground carrier is selected.


Standard Handling Fee


MSSI, LTD orders will be charged a max handling fee of $20.00 for orders less than $500 and a max handling fee of $10.00 for orders greater than $500 from all order sources (electronic or phone orders).

 

 

Other Freight Charges


Freight will not be charged for all other line items providing the minimum order threshold is met and an eligible ground carrier is selected. MSSI, LTD’s Free Freight Policy does not include the following service/delivery charges that may be imposed by the carrier:


  • Address correction fees
  • Accessorial fees of any kind
  • COD fees
  • Delivery area surcharge
  • Delivery detention fees
  • Duty and tax fees
  • Fuel surcharges
  • Inside delivery fees
  • Lift gate service fees
  • Oversize or heavyweight handling fees
  • Residential delivery fees
  • Return/refusal fees
  • Rural ZIP code fees
  • Security fees
  • Signature confirmation fees

Invoices for these charges will include the detail provided on the carriers' invoices to MSSI, LTD. The charges are pass-through fees and are not marked up by MSSI, LTD. The fuel surcharge is based on the average price of fuel as reported in national indexes. For the specific index used, please refer to the carriers' websites.


Same-Day Shipping


FedEx - If your order is received before 4:00 p.m. (local time at the distribution center), MSSI, LTD will ship it that same day.

UPS - Same day shipping if your order is received before 2:00 p.m. (local time at the distribution center).


This speedy service is included free with all orders, provided that they are free of credit holds and other complications. If you place your order early, our Credit Services Team will eagerly work with you to release any holds by this deadline.


Optional Delivery Services


Options supported by MSSI, LTD include:


  • Collect on Delivery (COD) - COD service is available with most MSSI, LTD carriers. MSSI, LTD will instruct the carrier to pick up secured funds prior to releasing the product. There is a COD fee associated with this service that varies by carrier. Third Party billing is not available for COD orders. Parcel carriers charge a COD fee per box, whereas the heavyweight carriers charge one fee per shipment. Refer to the carrier websites for exact fee. (Mandatory at time of order.)
  • Inside Delivery Service - Inside delivery service is standard for parcel deliveries. Heavyweight carriers can provide the service for a fee. Inside delivery is required when delivering to office buildings without a central receiving area or to residences. (LTL Charges)
  • Lift Gate Service - Lift gate service is required for heavyweight carriers to deliver to a consignee without a loading dock. The lift gate lowers the product from trailer level to ground level. There is a charge for lift gate service that varies by carrier. (LTL Charges)
  • Return of Refused Orders - MSSI, LTD carriers will return product to MSSI, LTD when a consignee or reseller refuses to take possession of the product. MSSI, LTD reserves the right to charge $50 for any unauthorized refusal/return.
  • Saturday Delivery - Saturday delivery is available from most carriers. Parcel carrier’s charge a Saturday delivery fee per box, whereas the heavyweight carriers charge one fee per shipment. Refer to the carrier websites for exact fee. (Mandatory at time of order.)
  • Signature Required - Carriers will not leave shipments at the delivery location without obtaining a signature when this option is requested. Carriers attempt to obtain a signature on all deliveries but most carriers release drivers from obtaining signatures when delivering to a residence when no one is available to sign. Signature required service is available for all FedEx and UPS services and FedEx Ground for a small fee. Refer to the carrier websites for exact fee. (Mandatory at time of order.)
  • The MSSI, LTD Accessorial Schedule includes the most common additional fees along with the associated charges that will be billed by MSSI, LTD. Please note, these charges do not encompass all possible additional charges and are subject to future market adjustments.

Express - Up to 150 lbs. each; 119" in length; 165" length plus girth (L+2W+2H)
Express Freight - 151 to 2,200 lbs. each; maximum skid dimensions: 70" height and 119" length or 300" length plus girth (L+2W+2H)
Ground - Up to 150 lbs. each; 108" length; 130" in combined length plus girth
Freight LTL - Up to 10,000 lbs.


Delivery Restrictions

  • Express - Not all service levels are available to all ZIP codes. Not all ZIP codes within a designated service level have the same delivery commitment time.   • Ground - Delivery to some ZIP codes is not available every day.

P.O. Box/APO and FPO Restrictions
FedEx will not deliver to P.O. Boxes or APO/FPO addresses.

2nd Day Air A.M. - Two-day delivery by noon
2nd Day Air - Two-day delivery by end of day
3 Day Select - Three-day delivery by end of day
Worldwide Express - One- and two-day deliveries by 10:30 a.m. to major cities in Canada and Europe
Worldwide Expedited - On-time delivery from two to five days to more than 57 countries


UPS Ground


 Ground - One to five business days within 48 continental states, three to seven business days to/from Alaska and Hawaii
Standard to Canada - Delivery to all addresses in the 10 Canadian provinces
